Halle Berry
Wow. I’m watching Jay Leno right now [Frank Calliendo is hilarious...his sketch TV show was awful, but wow he is so spot on with his impressions] ANYWAY Halle Berry was sitting next to him. Dear Lord she is beautiful. She so elegant and pristine. Wow. Jaw dropping. I think I like her better with long hair. No matter what–she is gorgeous. This is the 3rd “Beautiful” posting. Diane Lane and Keri Russell were beforehand. I’m getting a lot of hits from these. Whatevers Clever.
I’m a sap. I can understand that. Shit happens. I just got home [edit--I started this last night and got too distracted to write and fell asleep] and saw that August Rush was on. I remember seeing the previews for it and it intrigued me. I read the description about a orphaned musical prodigy seeks to use his talents to find his parents and decided to give it a shot.
Yea, it sounds like sappy shitty fairytale. And in many respects it is. But too bad. I really liked it. The fact of the matter is, if you let yourself enjoy this movie for what it is, it makes it that much better. I let go and stopped judging it for what it was and wasn’t and I got to sit down for just about two hours and immerse myself in hope.
I read something interesting on Wikipedia saying it was a modern retelling of Oliver Twist. Well, it definitely put a twist on the classic story [HAHA i'm so punny, I need a standup special on Comedy Central.] Freddie Highmore was great as Evan/August. I thought the minimal amount of lines he had spoke volumes. He really acted with his facial expressions and his eyes. You could see the joy and the excitement in his eyes as he explored the world of music. It was hard for the excitement in his eyes not to pass on to me. It was fun watching how much fun he was having. [edit--i just re-read the previous 3 sentences and they sound like they were written by a 4th grader. i'm leaving it that way.]
The hope that this boy carried with him really was great to see. It’s hard to deny something that is that special. How can you frown at something like this? I mean, you can write it off for being shitty and cheesy, but shit sometimes you just gotta let go and enjoy yourself. I mean, it’s no Disney movie, it’s pretty dark at some points. Robin Williams scared the shit out of me–a far departure from Hook [one of my all-time favorite movies]. However, the overall mood and story of the movie is extremely hopeful and uplifting. Fuck yes. Score one for the good guys.
Post-script: KERI RUSSELL IS BEAUTIFUL. She is breathtaking. I mean, wow. She is Evan/August’s mom. I forgot how incredible she is. No homo, but Jonathan Rhys Meyers is awesome as his dad. Plus, he’s Irish. ERIN GO BRAUGH!!!
Post-post-script: I think I’m going to start compiling a list of the women I think are the most stunningly gorgeous and beautiful–in no particular order. So first up was Diane Lane. Second is Keri Russell. Boom.
Diane Lane. Wow.
Just watched Unfaithful today for the first time. John has been talking about this for awhile. Finally the kid got something right. Diane Lane is fucking incredible. So beautiful. So FUCKING SEXY. The movie was alright, I’d give it a 6/10, really the only redeeming parts of the movie are when she is getting railed. What a bod.
I have to say, she is a hidden gem, at least for me. Johnboi and I were just watching Jack the other day, and holy shit I had no idea she was Jack’s mom. What a beautiful woman lady. I hope I can find a wife to look like her at 44. Or maybe she’ll just marry me.
